DAY 1: FROM CUSCO – CUSIPATA – VININCUNCA (RAINBOW MOUNTAIN) – CUSCO
Our trip begins at 4:00 a.m. with our guide, who will pick us up from our hotel and drive us to Cusipata, which is about an hour and 30 minutes south of Cusco more or less, where we will be treated to a fantastic breakfast. We may also take advantage of the chance to buy last-minute purchases like gloves, caps, chocolates, and sweets, all of which are required for our excursion.
After breakfast, we will be taken for about an hour to the starting point for the climb to the Colored Mountain, Phulawasipata (4600 masl). Before we begin the hike, our guide will provide us with some tips. During the two-hour (3-kilometer) climb, we will be able to see stunning views such as massive mountains, glaciers, and colorful valleys populated by llamas and alpacas. We will also interact with the residents of the areas to learn about their lifestyle and culture.
Around 10:00 a.m., we will arrive at the majestic Rainbow Mountain, also known as Vinicunca (5036 masl), where we will take a 15-minute break while our guide gives us an explanation of the area and we can enjoy the breathtaking views around us. We will also have the opportunity to see the highest mountain in Cusco, Ausangate (6380 masl), from a close distance.
After that, we will have around 45 minutes to explore on our own and take as many shots as we wish of the magnificent Rainbow Mountain.
After touring the Colored Mountain, we will descend for approximately 1.5 hours (Phulawasipata), where our mobility awaits us. After arriving at the parking lot, we will return to Cusipata for approximately an hour to eat a lovely lunch.
After lunch, we will travel to Cusco for 2 hours, arriving at Plaza de Armas of Cusco at 16:00 pm or few minutes after to your accommodation or hotel.
